How to Connect Reddit Ads to Claude: Setup + Prompts

Most ad platforms give you a way out of manual reporting. Google Ads connects natively to Looker Studio. Meta has a whole ecosystem of integrations.

But Reddit Ads either lets you export a CSV or schedule emails with more CSVs in them. That’s why it makes more sense to connect Reddit Ads to Claude. It becomes the analytics layer Reddit never built. Here’s how to set it up so the data flows in on its own and you get answers from live data.

How does the Reddit Ads Claude integration work?

If you’ve already tried pasting a Reddit Ads CSV into Claude, you know the pattern. It works for one-off cases. Then the file goes stale and every follow-up question needs a fresh export. When Claude computes totals across hundreds of raw rows, the numbers can differ from your ads manager.

A live connection is a reliable solution here. It runs through MCP (Model Context Protocol), which lets Claude query external data sources in natural language during a conversation.

Updated: As Reddit does not have a native Claude connector or an official MCP server, use Coupler.io, a no-code data-integration and AI analytics solution. It collects your campaign data from Reddit Ads, transforms it, and delivers it to Claude through its MCP server on a desired schedule (monthly to every 15 minutes). Coupler.io supports over 400 Claude integrations, which means you can blend your Reddit Ads data with other ad platforms, analytics tools, or your CRM. As a result, Claude will run cross-channel analysis or drill into campaign performance and subreddit targeting from a single flow.

The math is the other half of the Reddit Ads to Claude integration. Claude interprets data well but calculates poorly across large datasets. Language models predict numbers rather than compute them. That’s why Coupler.io’s Analytical Engine handles the arithmetic, like aggregating spend by objective or calculating blended ROAS, and returns verified results. Claude explains the numbers instead of guessing at them.

reddit ads to claude integration

The Reddit Ads Claude integration is read-only. Access is token-based and encrypted, so Claude can analyze your campaigns but can’t change budgets, bids, or targeting.

Now let’s look at how to connect Reddit Ads to Claude step by step.

Connect Reddit Ads to Claude with Coupler.io

The whole setup takes three steps and no code. All you need is a Reddit Ads account with admin access and a Coupler.io account.

Step 1: Create the data flow

Sign up for Coupler.io for free (no credit card required). Create a new data flow, select Reddit Ads as the source and Claude as the destination.

Or, just click Proceed in the pre-selected form.

Connect your Reddit Ads account and pick the report you need: campaign, ad group, or ad-level performance. The Reddit Ads connector pulls impressions, clicks, spend, CTR, CPC, CPM, conversions, and ROAS at each level. Set the date range for the period you want to analyze.

reddit ads source settings

If you plan to compare Reddit against other channels, add sources like Google Ads or Meta Ads to the same flow now.

Step 2: Organize data

When you export data from Reddit Ads, the raw records carry baggage. For example, internal IDs you don’t report on, paused campaigns cluttering the view, column names like “amount_spent” that don’t match your other reports.

The transformation step helps you clean this up before Claude sees anything. Filter out inactive campaigns, rename columns to your conventions, aggregate daily rows into weekly totals, or join Reddit data with another platform on date or campaign name.

Step 3: Connect Claude

In the Destinations section, click Get connector. This opens the Coupler.io connector page in the Claude app.

Once the flow completes, open Claude at claude.ai or in the desktop app. Enable the Coupler.io connector to get access to the MCP server.

use coupler in claude

Now, test it with a real question:

Break down last month's Reddit Ads spend by campaign objective. For each objective, show total spend, conversions, and cost per conversion, then flag any campaign whose cost per conversion is more than 50% above the account average.

reddit ads spend breakdown analysis

Claude does more than rank the campaigns here. It explains each flag. The retargeting one, for instance, has a frequency of 8.2, so the same people keep seeing the ad.

What you can do with Reddit Ads data in Claude

Once the connection runs, the useful part starts. These four examples of Reddit Ads analysis with AI map to decisions advertisers face every week.

Find campaigns burning budget without converting

Every account accumulates campaigns that spend steadily and convert rarely. To spot them in the native dashboard, you’ll have to scan rows and do mental math across spend, conversions, and objectives. Claude does the triage in one pass.

List all active campaigns from the last 30 days with total spend over $200. Rank them by cost per conversion, worst first. For the bottom three, compare their CTR and CPC against the account average and tell me whether the problem looks like targeting, creative, or landing page.
campaigns burning budget use case

The output is a shortlist of campaigns to pause or restructure, plus a hypothesis for each. Notice how the diagnosis flips for the retargeting campaign. The first two flags show low CTR with high CPC, so the ads themselves aren’t working.

See which communities actually deliver

Community targeting is what makes Reddit different from every other ad platform, and it’s also where the native reporting is weakest. The dashboard’s community breakdown counts a user in every targeting group they belong to. This makes it hard to tell where an ad actually served, and the totals won’t match the sum of the rows.

Let’s ask Claude to work with that limitation rather than around it:

Using the community breakdown, compare cost per conversion across my targeted subreddits for the last 60 days. Note that users can appear in multiple targeting groups. Which communities justify a dedicated campaign with their own budget, and which should I drop from targeting?
community breakdown usecase

Claude opens with the caveat you gave it: overlapping audiences inflate the community-level numbers, so the strongest subreddits partly borrow credit from each other. In this case, the two developer communities share most of their audience, so Claude recommends one combined campaign instead of two that would bid against each other.

Compare creative performance

Reddit rewards ads that read like Reddit. Promoted posts written in the platform’s voice routinely outperform polished display-style creative. To confirm that in your own account, you must line up ad-level data across campaigns.

This one works well as a multi-step conversation. Start broad:

Compare CTR and CPC across all my ads from the last 90 days, grouped by campaign. Which individual ads are in the top and bottom quartile?
 compare creative performance usecase 1

The quartile split tells one story: every top ad feels native to Reddit, every bottom ad looks like a traditional ad transplanted from Meta or LinkedIn. Claude also catches that the whole bottom quartile comes from three campaigns, so the problem is creative direction, not a few unlucky ads.

Now push Claude to build on its own output:

Take the top-quartile ads from that analysis. What do their headlines have in common? Draft three new headline variations for my worst-performing ad group based on those patterns.
compare creative performance usecase 1

This is where the multi-step approach pays off. Claude extracts what the winning headlines share (specific numbers, a human voice, the problem named before the product). It applies those patterns to the worst ad group’s copy.

Benchmark Reddit vs. Meta/Google

The question your budget owner asks is not “how is Reddit doing?” but “is Reddit worth its share of the budget?” Answering it requires Reddit, Meta, Google, and whatever else you run in one dataset.

The same flow you used to connect Reddit Ads to Claude takes those sources too. Blend them on date and shared metrics, and ask:

Compare Reddit Ads against Meta Ads and Google Ads for the last quarter: total spend, CPC, conversion volume, and cost per conversion by month. Where is Reddit competitive, and at what point does scaling Reddit spend stop making sense based on the trend?
compare reddit ads with meta google usecase

Reddit looks like the cheapest channel here, but the trend hides a problem. The extra spend in recent months bought very few new conversions. Claude puts the marginal cost near $133 each. Its advice is to hold the budget where it is and fix targeting before scaling further.

Prompts to analyze data from Reddit Ads in Claude

You don’t have to build prompts from scratch. Copy any of these to analyze Reddit Ads data in Claude. They cover angles the use cases above didn’t.

Check budget pacing

My monthly Reddit Ads budget is $5,000. Based on spend so far this month, am I pacing over or under? Project end-of-month spend per campaign at the current daily rate.

budget pacing prompt

Pacing sounds like simple division, but the useful part is the attribution. Claude doesn’t just say you’re on track to overspend. It names the campaign responsible and shows that its spend accelerated recently. Run this prompt mid-month, when there’s still time to adjust budgets, not on the 30th when the money is already gone.

Explain a CPC spike

My average CPC rose last week compared to the previous week. Break down CPC by campaign and by day, identify where the increase concentrates, and tell me whether it correlates with a change in impressions or CTR.

cpc spike prompt

An average hides more than it shows. The account-level CPC rise turns out to be two separate problems. Retargeting gets expensive because its audience pool is draining, while Keyword Targeting gets expensive because new broad keywords diluted CTR. They both have the same symptom, opposite causes, and opposite fixes. You can use this prompt whenever a cost metric moves and you don’t know why.

Audit conversion mix by objective

Show conversions by campaign objective for the last 60 days. Which objective delivers the highest conversion volume, and which delivers the lowest cost per conversion? Are those the same objective?

audit conversion mix prompt

The question sounds like trivia, but the answer catches a real trap. App Installs converts cheapest. Claude points out the catch: an install is worth less than a signup, so cheap isn’t the same as good. It also shows two objectives drive most conversions while awareness campaigns quietly eat budget. Run this before deciding where next month’s money goes.

Generate a stakeholder summary

Write a five-sentence summary of Reddit Ads performance for the last month for a non-marketing executive: total spend, headline results, one thing that improved, one thing that got worse, and the single action we're taking next.

stakeholder summary prompt

Claude translates the metrics into plain money-and-results language and ends with the action plus its expected outcome, which is the first thing an executive asks about. This turns the monthly reporting chore into thirty seconds of work.

Compare device performance

Break down impressions, CTR, and cost per conversion by device OS for the last 90 days. Should I adjust anything about how I approach mobile versus desktop on Reddit?

compare device performance prompt

Mobile wins on every average here. But Claude digs one level deeper: desktop users click less and convert more. The recommendation is to fix the slow mobile landing page before touching any bids. Use this prompt when a device split looks obvious, and you want to check what the averages hide.

Find scaling headroom

Identify my two most efficient campaigns by cost per conversion with at least 20 conversions in the last 60 days. Based on their spend and performance trend, estimate how much additional daily budget each could absorb before efficiency likely degrades.

find efficient campaigns prompt

“Scale what works” is easy advice until you ask how much. Claude puts a number on it: a specific daily budget ceiling for each campaign. The reasoning differs too. One campaign is limited by a finite subreddit audience. Claude also warns against raising budgets too fast, since big jumps restart Reddit’s learning phase. Use this prompt before you scale a winner.

What matters for a Reddit Ads analysis with AI

Anyone can get Claude to answer. Getting answers you’d take into a budget meeting depends on these four things.

Teach Claude your account’s definitions

Reddit Ads data doesn’t explain itself. A “conversions” column doesn’t say whether that means purchases, signups, or page visits. Reddit’s pixel tracks all of them. A $28 cost per conversion reads as fine or alarming depending on targets Claude can’t see. Claude only sees column names and rows.

You can fix part of this before the data reaches Claude. In Coupler.io, rename columns to match your reporting language, so Claude reads “Spend” instead of “amount_spent,” and filter the flow down to the conversion events you actually optimize for.

For the logic a column name can’t carry, use a Claude Project. Add one document explaining your campaign naming scheme, which pixel event counts as the primary conversion, and your CPA and ROAS benchmarks. Every conversation in that project starts with that context already loaded.

Keep the math out of Claude’s hands

Reddit Ads math has traps that look small until they compound. ROAS needs conversion revenue divided by spend per campaign, weekly totals need daily rows summed without dropping days, and week-over-week comparisons need two date windows aligned exactly. When Claude computes all of this from a pasted CSV, it predicts the numbers rather than calculates them. And across 90 days of rows, a total can land a few percent off without looking wrong.

With Coupler.io, the Analytical Engine runs the arithmetic and returns computed results for Claude to interpret. When you ask which campaign’s CPA rose fastest, the division happened in the engine, not in the language model. The difference stays invisible until the day a wrong number reaches a budget meeting.

Start from PPC analysis skills, not blank prompts

There’s a gap between asking Claude “how are my ads doing?” and asking the question a PPC audit would ask. Coupler.io ships pre-built analysis skills for advertising data that close that gap. For example, the performance analysis skill breaks down spend, conversions, and cost per conversion by campaign and objective, flags outliers, and compares the current period against the previous one. Other skills cover budget pacing, creative performance, and channel benchmarks.

In practice, this means your first question already returns a structured analysis with flagged outliers, period comparisons, and next steps. Instead of settling for a polite paragraph, you’ll have to interrogate further with Claude about your ad data.

Feed your dashboard from the same flow

Claude answers the questions you think to ask. A dashboard shows the numbers nobody thought to ask about. You want both, and they shouldn’t require two setups.

The same Reddit Ads data flow pushes to Claude and other destinations at once. A practical split: a Reddit Ads dashboard in Looker Studio for the always-on view your team checks daily, and Claude for the “why did this happen?” follow-ups the dashboard raises.

One flow, one refresh schedule, and the numbers in both places always match because they come from the same sync.

Other ways to connect Reddit Ads to Claude

If the no-code route doesn’t fit your setup, here are the alternatives. The table shows what each route for loading Reddit Ads to Claude costs you in setup and upkeep.

Connection methodSetup effortWho does the mathBest forWatch out for
Coupler.ioMinutes, no codeAnalytical Engine computes, Claude interpretsRecurring analysis, cross-channel reportingRefresh frequency depends on your plan
Manual CSVNone, but repeats every timeClaude computes from raw textOne-off questions on small datasetsStale data, arithmetic drift on large files
Community MCP serverHours: Reddit app, OAuth flow, local serverClaude computes from API responsesTechnical users comfortable self-hostingMaintenance falls on you
API scriptsDays of engineeringYour code, or Claude on the outputCustom pipelines with internal attribution logicRate limits, token refresh, ongoing upkeep

Let’s take a closer look at each of these methods.

Manual CSV export

The most direct route needs no setup at all. In Reddit Ads Manager, pick the tab you want to export from (Campaigns, Ad Groups, or Ads) and choose your metric columns. Set the date range; Reddit defaults to the last 7 days, excluding today. Click Export report, and you have a CSV. Upload it to a Claude conversation and ask away.

manual csv export reddit ads

For a one-time snapshot, this is honestly enough. Claude reads the file, answers your questions, and you never touched a settings page.

The problems start the second week. Your file is frozen at the moment you exported it, so every new question about fresh data means another download. And since Claude computes directly from raw rows, totals on larger files can come out slightly off. Reddit does offer scheduled email reports, but those just land more CSVs in your inbox. If you want the full picture of what Reddit lets you export and how, the guide to exporting data from Reddit Ads covers it.

Best for: A genuine one-off, like a single question before a single meeting, with no plans to repeat it.

Community-built Reddit Ads MCP server

Since Reddit never built an official MCP server, developers filled the gap. The most established open-source Reddit Ads MCP server connects Claude to the Reddit Ads API v3 with read-only access. It pulls campaigns, ad groups, ads, and performance reports with breakdowns.

Setup is where most marketers stop. You register a Reddit app, run an OAuth flow, store credentials, and add the server to your Claude Desktop config. Easy for a developer, foreign territory for a marketer. And the server runs on your machine, so fixing it is your job when the API changes.

Commercial MCP servers remove the self-hosting but add a subscription. Some can also edit live campaigns, which deserves a hard think before you hand that to an AI tool. Coupler.io’s connector is MCP-based too. It is ready to use, with the calculations layer a raw server doesn’t have.

Best for: a technical solo operator who runs their own tooling and accepts the maintenance that comes with it.

API scripts and function calling

This is the maximum-control route. The Reddit Ads API v3 exposes everything: every endpoint, every parameter, your own attribution logic. When paired with Claude, it takes two shapes. Scripts pull data on a schedule into a warehouse, and Claude analyzes what lands there. Function calling flips it: Claude decides which API function to run based on the question.

The cost is everything around the code. Rate limits increase, the API returns errors without telling your code when to retry, and you build token refresh, error handling, and monitoring yourself. A quick script becomes a small system someone has to own. For a marketing team, that’s a lot of infrastructure for questions a no-code Reddit Ads data integration answers on day one.

Best for: engineering teams with an existing data pipeline where Reddit Ads is one more source to plug in.

FAQ

1. Is there a native Reddit Ads Claude connector?

No official Reddit Ads Claude connector exists in Claude’s directory, and Reddit doesn’t maintain an MCP server either. The Coupler.io connector fills that gap: it’s MCP-based under the hood but available as a ready-to-use connector in Claude, with data transformation and verified calculations included. The same setup works for ChatGPT if your team uses that instead.

2. Can I connect multiple Reddit Ads accounts?

Yes. The Reddit Ads data connector supports several accounts in a single data flow, so you can analyze them together or separately. It is a very common setup for agencies managing multiple clients. Coupler.io bills by connected accounts, not by data flow, so one account can power any number of flows and dashboards.

3. Is it safe to connect Reddit Ads to Claude?

Yes. When you connect Reddit Ads to Claude through Coupler.io, the connection is read-only, token-based, and encrypted. Claude can view and analyze the campaign data you share but can’t modify campaigns, budgets, or targeting.

4. How fresh is the data Claude sees?

Two things set the ceiling. Your Coupler.io refresh schedule is one: it runs as often as every 15 minutes. Reddit’s own reporting is the other: delivery metrics update within about 30 minutes, but conversion metrics can take up to three hours to settle.
