Hevo Data Pricing Explained: How Events Shape Your Bill
On paper, Hevo Data pricing comes down to four plans, with prices tied to your monthly event quota. The catch is what you pay for: events, not connectors or seats. Every row it inserts, updates, or deletes in your warehouse or database counts as one. So the same plan can fit one month and fall short the next.
That makes Hevo hard to budget for. It’s also a data pipeline tool built for data teams, and it expects you to run a warehouse. If you only need reports, Coupler.io can be simpler: it sends your ad and CRM data straight to spreadsheets or AI tools. This guide covers how Hevo events add up, what each plan costs, and where Coupler.io stands as an alternative.
Key takeaways
- Four plans: Free, Starter from $265/month, Professional from $750/month, and Business Critical on a custom quote.
- You pay per event, so syncing more often can raise your bill even when your business stays the same.
- Run out of events and you can buy on-demand credit. When that runs out too, a short grace period starts, and then your pipelines pause.
- Hevo is built for data teams. It only sends data to warehouses and databases, so you’ll likely pay for a warehouse and a BI tool too.
- Coupler.io covers reporting without a warehouse. It blends data from 400+ apps into your reports and AI tools. You pay per account, not per event, from $24/month.
How the Hevo Data pricing model works
Hevo Data bills you for events. Hevo’s pricing page defines an event as each record inserted, updated, or deleted in your destination, so a row removed at the source costs you the same as a new one.
Some setups create extra events. Hevo’s docs count rows created by the destination’s JSON parsing strategy, so nested fields split into child rows each bill as their own event, and transformations that generate new rows add to the count as well. Rows that Hevo’s own SQL models produce inside your warehouse don’t count.

Each plan comes with a monthly event quota. The quota resets every month. You pay the full plan price even if you only use half of it.
There are two ways to get free events:
- The 14-day free trial gives you every source, and none of the events you load during the trial are billed. No credit card is needed.
- On paid plans, the first time you use a source, its events are free for 14 days.
What happens when you run out of events
Hevo doesn’t stop your pipelines the moment you hit your event quota. On paid plans, three things happen in order:
- On-demand credit kicks in. You can set a limit in bundles of 1M events, up to 60% of your plan (12M extra on a 20M plan). Hevo doesn’t publish the price of these billable events, so you won’t know what a busy month costs until the invoice arrives.
- A grace period starts when the credit runs out. It lasts 24 hours on weekdays, or until Monday at 4 PM if you run out over the weekend (Friday 4 PM to Monday 10 AM). That’s your window to upgrade.
- Your pipelines pause. They stay paused until next month or until you upgrade. New data waits in a queue, so nothing is lost, but every dashboard built on that data stops updating.

If you go over often, a bigger plan is easier to budget for. The free plan has no credit: once you hit 1M events, new data waits until the next month. That makes it fine for small tests, but not for reports your team relies on.
Hevo Data pricing plans side by side
Each paid plan comes in three pricing tiers by event volume, and the price jumps at each one.
| Plan | Events per month | Price per month (annual / monthly billing) | Users | What’s included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1M | $0 | Up to 5 | Free sources only, sync every hour |
| Starter | 5M / 20M / 50M | $299 / $265, $499 / $440, $949 / $835 | Up to 10 | 170+ connectors, dbt integration, SSH and SSL, 24/7 email and chat support |
| Professional | 20M / 50M / 100M | $849 / $750, $1,499 / $1,320, $2,199 / $1,935 | Unlimited users | Everything in Starter, Hevo APIs, reverse SSH, add-ons |
| Business Critical | Custom | Custom quote | Unlimited | Everything in Professional, single sign-on (SSO), role-based access, multiple workspaces, VPC peering |
Hevo’s pricing page is inconsistent on streaming pipelines: the plan card lists them as a Business Critical extra, while the feature comparison table shows them as the sync frequency for Professional too. Check with sales before you pick a plan on that basis.
The free tier works for testing, but it only covers Hevo’s free sources. Once you move to a paid plan, you can’t go back to it without contacting support.
Starter and Professional overlap at 20M and 50M events. With annual billing, Professional costs $310 more per month than Starter at 20M, and $485 more at 50M. On monthly billing those gaps are $350 and $550.
That extra money buys unlimited users, API access, and add-ons. If more than 10 people on your team need Hevo, Professional is the cheapest option.
Annual billing saves 12% ($408 a year on Starter 5M). I’d still start monthly: until your pipelines have run for a while, you won’t know your real event count, and the wrong level costs more than the discount saves.
The biggest step is from 50M to 100M on Professional, which adds $615 a month with annual billing. Within a plan, bigger quotas cost less per event: with annual billing, a million events costs about $53 on Starter 5M and about $17 on Starter 50M. Moving up a plan resets that, though. Professional 100M works out at about $19 per million, more than Starter 50M, because you’re also paying for unlimited users and API access.
Hevo Data cost examples for different customer types
Two common setups show how fast events add up. Both use the example from Hevo’s own docs: an ad account with 1,000 rows of results a day and a 30-day conversion window.
What an online store pays
Take a Shopify store that advertises on Facebook and Google. When someone clicks an ad today and buys next week, Facebook updates today’s results. So Hevo reloads the last 30 days on every sync. On a 12-hour sync, that’s about 1.8M events a month per ad account, or 3.7M with Shopify orders, which fits Starter 5M at $265/month.
Before a big sale, the owner wants hourly updates. Now the 30-day reload runs 24 times a day, events jump to about 43M, and the plan moves to Starter 50M at $835/month, over three times the cost. A warehouse and BI tool come on top.
On Coupler.io, the store pays $99/month on Active. Its data goes straight into Google Sheets or Data Studio, with no warehouse needed. A busy sale doesn’t raise the bill, because you pay per account, not per row. For hourly updates during the sale, Pro costs $199/month.

The two tools aren’t on the same schedule in this example: Hevo’s $265 buys a 12-hour sync, Coupler.io’s $99 a daily refresh. Hevo’s price doesn’t change at a daily sync, so the gap holds either way.
What a 10-client agency pays
Say your agency runs Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn Ads for 10 clients. That’s 30 ad accounts, and at about 1.8M events each on a 12-hour sync, roughly 54M events a month.
Starter tops out at 50M, so you’d lean on credit at an unpublished price, with only 10 user seats for your whole team. The plan that covers 54M events without credit is Professional 100M at $1,935/month, or about $194 per client.
On Coupler.io, a new client adds a few accounts, not an unknown number of events. Pro at $199/month covers up to 50 accounts with hourly refresh, or about $20 per client. Past 50 accounts, you’d move to Agency or Enterprise.

These numbers are estimates. Your event count depends on how much data each account creates, so check Hevo’s usage page after a few weeks.

Book a demoConnectors, add-ons, and costs that aren’t on the price page
Hevo’s pricing page lists 170+ connectors on every paid plan. The bigger limit for business teams is where the data goes.
| Area | What Hevo Data offers | What’s missing |
|---|---|---|
| Sources | 170+ connectors, including Facebook Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, Shopify, HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, and databases | ConnectAI builds custom connectors from API docs, but it’s in early access with no public price |
| Destinations | Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Azure Synapse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, S3 | No Google Sheets, Excel, Data Studio, Power BI, or AI tools |
| Transformations | SQL models on every plan, dbt integration on paid plans | No dbt integration on the free plan |
| Reverse ETL | Hevo Activate sends warehouse data to HubSpot and Salesforce | Listed under early access, so availability depends on Hevo approving a request |
Add-ons are only available on Professional and Business Critical. Hevo offers onboarding help as a professional services add-on, but it doesn’t list prices for any of them. Support options also change by plan. Starter and Professional include 24/7 email and live chat, while only Business Critical comes with a 1-hour response SLA.
How Hevo’s event-based billing compares with Fivetran and Airbyte
Fivetran and Airbyte are Hevo’s closest peers. Like Hevo, they’re data pipeline tools that charge by data volume, but each counts it differently.
| Hevo Data | Fivetran | Airbyte (cloud) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | Events loaded: inserts, updates, and deletes | Monthly active rows, counted per connection | Credits on Standard, processing capacity on Pro and Enterprise Flex |
| What raises the bill | More rows and more frequent syncs | More changed rows and more connections | More data synced or more capacity |
| Starting price | Free plan; Starter from $265/month (annual) | Free plan; paid use is usage-based, with a $5 monthly base charge per connection | Standard from $20/month; Pro and Enterprise Flex by quote |
Fivetran sells reverse ETL as a generally available product, Activations, while Hevo’s equivalent is still in early access. Hevo’s fixed event levels give you more predictable pricing than per-connection billing, but all three tools charge more as your data grows. Coupler.io prices by connected account instead, so if you need reports rather than a warehouse, rows stop driving your bill.
Coupler.io: pricing that doesn’t depend on row counts
Coupler.io is a reporting automation platform for business teams. It automatically collects and blends data from 400+ apps and keeps it up to date for your reports and AI.
Teams usually look at it instead of Hevo Data for two reasons. They want a bill that doesn’t move with row counts. And they don’t want to run a warehouse and a BI tool just to get reports. Both tools can load data into BigQuery or Snowflake, but the jobs differ: Hevo feeds a warehouse for data teams, while Coupler.io gets business teams their reports without a pipeline to run.

Say you want HubSpot deals next to Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads spend in one Data Studio dashboard, then ask which campaign brought in the most revenue last month.
You pay per connected account, not per row, so a busy ad account costs the same as a quiet one. Your plan sets your accounts, destinations, and refresh speed. Every paid plan includes all 400+ sources, 250+ dashboard templates, and Coupler AI, which helps set up data flows and answers questions on the same refreshed data as your reports.
Coupler.io has four paid plans:
| Plan | Price per month (annual / monthly billing) | Accounts | Destinations | Data refresh | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $24 / $32 | 3 | 1 | Daily | 1 |
| Active | $99 / $132 | 15 | 3 | Daily | Unlimited |
| Pro | $199 / $259 | 50 | Unlimited | Hourly | Unlimited |
| Custom | Custom pricing | Custom | Custom | Every 15 minutes | Unlimited |
You can add extra accounts for $4.49 each with annual billing. Past 50 accounts, Coupler.io prices through sales, with separate packages for agencies and enterprises. Agencies get a workspace for every client, separate billing for each client organization, and a personal account manager. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Book a demoWhat kind of tool does your team need?
Hevo Data and Coupler.io overlap when you load data into a warehouse, but they’re mostly built for different jobs. A few questions settle it for most teams.
- Need to copy a production database into a warehouse? Hevo Data is built for that, especially if a data team runs it.
- Moving large data volumes that need near-real-time syncs? Hevo Data’s price per event drops as you scale up within a plan, and streaming pipelines are listed on Professional and Business Critical.
- Where do your reports live? If it’s Sheets, a BI tool, or an AI tool, Coupler.io gets data there without a warehouse in between.
- Reporting for clients? Coupler.io’s account-based plans make the cost per client easy to work out, up to your plan’s account limit. With Hevo Data, each new client adds events.
- Want AI analysis on top of your data? Every paid Coupler.io plan includes Coupler AI: ask which campaign drove the most revenue and get an answer from your refreshed data. Hevo’s plans don’t include AI analysis, and its separate Hevo Answers tool has limited access.
If most of your answers point the same way, that’s your tool.
FAQ
Why do Hevo Data prices differ across websites?
Hevo cut its annual discount from 20% to 12% during 2026. Some third-party listings still show the old annual prices of $239 and $679 per month for Starter and Professional. The current Hevo Data pricing on hevodata.com starts at $265 and $750 per month with annual billing.
